it's sweater time! Ever wonder what we do with all the fabulous newfie fur left from grooming?

Chiengora made recently from our Landseer fur!

Introducing Chiengora! 
Beautiful hand-spun wool made from dog fur! 
And what better dog fur to use than Newfies'?   Water-resistant and super warm!
Recycling at its finest, or should we say "furriest!?"

After grooming, we separate the different colors, bag it, weigh it, and ship it to Kelly in Washington state...

Kelly then spins it into yarn right out of the bag...

And makes beautiful sweaters, blankets, and other items!

There's lots of it (dog fur) that goes into landfills (sob) and it's so useful and beautiful.  Newfy is especially nice, IMO, as it behaves like alpaca, and is super easy to work with.  You guys do such a nice job of gathering it, I am able to spin it right out of the bag.    It's really nice stuff.  Yours is of such good quality, that you kind of set the bar high - thanks to the kids for being so good about getting all the dirt out!
