NAN HARPER OF THE TITANIC RETIRES!

People often ask us if it's hard to see our puppies go home.   With such a long reservations list, we know when pups are born that they'll be quickly claimed and that our job is to take good care of them until they join their new families.    

But when it comes to seeing our adults go home, you'll likely see us shed a few tears.  Our adult dogs have given a lot for our program, and we've usually been through many tender moments together.  Although it feels good to see them retire to a loving home (often with one of our wonderful puppy families), it's still one of the tougher aspects of what we do.   

Especially when we bottle-raised a dog from birth, like we did Nan Harper of the Titanic, daughter of our first female Newfie Nellie and one of our all-time favorite sires Rigel of the Titanic.   When Nellie had an emergency c-section in 2015, we bottle raised her only surviving puppy Nan.   Our friends fondly remember our daughter carrying Nan in her pocket, always ready to stick a bottle in her mouth!

Nan grew up to pass her health and hip testing with flying colors (top 5%), and her Newfie and NewfieDoodle puppies have been favorites of our customers for years.    Her daughter Nan's "Harper" has big shoes, or should we say "paws,"  to fill!   

This week,  we said goodbye to Nan as she went to Virginia Beach where she joined the Cox Family and Jasper, one of our first Newfie pups (before we even had a website)!   We love and miss our Nanner Banner!
