Our First Newfiedoodle/Newfypoo litter!
Born to Nan and George 6-1-18.
enjoy updates below!
Enjoy this note from someone who visited Gimli then came to us to purchase
one of his full siblings:
"We met Gimli today and fell in love! He is so sweet and handsome! He warmed up immediately and even leaned into me when we stood up to leave... it was so sweet. I've never met such a social, happy, loving dog that is so calm and obedient at the same time!"
We were so excited to introduce our very first litter of Newfiedoodles! Nan and George, the parents, are both very smart and affectionate, and these pups are one-of-a-kind! We hope these puppies may be a good fit for those who love Newfies but need a more allergy-friendly option (possible but not guaranteed to be hypoallergenic). Please keep in mind that, being F1 (first generation) Newfiedoodles, these may or may not shed, but should be low to no drooling.
UPDATE! As of February 2019, we are getting excellent reports on our NewfieDoodles! See the updates below!

Gavin ("Duke") - Now home with Jane in NC!
2-18-19 UPDATE:
We are so happy with Duke! Formerly Gavin :) Hi temperament is wonderful. He's laid back, but still has energy and is a playful puppy. He's beautiful too, Please find a few photos attached!
Duke at 8 months currently weighs 73 lbs. What's interesting is he's been at this weight for about a month now. We're not sure if he'll stay this size, or have another growth spurt. Either way, we love him so much!
Duke sheds a little. And he doesn't drool, which we love! His hair is wavy.
Duke was very easy to house train. Of course he had a few accidents, but that is normal. He also rings a bell to go outside.
I love the Newfiedoodle breed! They make such wonderful family pets.
We are so happy with Duke, we are so glad we found you on the internet!

Georgina ("Charlie")- Now home with Sonya in NC!
September 4, 2019 update:
Charlie is doing great! Her temperament is laid back and cuddly. She will sit on your lap all day if you let her. As you can see in the picture, we had to have her cut short at the beginning of the summer, her long hair had gotten matted from swimming in the creeks. We are a little surprised at her size. The groomer said that she is the smallest newfiepoo she has seen at 60 pounds. We did think she would be bigger, but she is a joy to have. She does not drool or shed! She can crawl all over you with black on and you cannot even tell.

George ("Baxter) - Now home with the Donnell Family in NY!
2-6-19 UPDATE:
We are so happy with his temperament and his appearance. Everywhere we go, people tell us how handsome he is and wonder what kind of dog he is. He has beautiful markings. His temperament is great. He's playful and loving and affectionate. Gentle with our two young children. And smart! He remembers commands and learns quickly! He loves to play fetch with tennis balls. He has a lot of puppy energy, but he settles down nicely and will happily sit with me while I read on the couch. (He also loves to cuddle in bed!)
His hair is curly. We brush it out regularly and get him groomed once a month. He doesn't shed and doesn't drool.
Baxter is the first puppy I have house trained, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I think the process has been relatively smooth. He still sometimes has accidents, but it's really only when he's been inside for too long.
We would absolutely recommend a NewfieDoodle to a friend!
We hope you and your family are well!

August 2022 Update:
I love my boy. My parents loved Gilbert more than any other dog we’ve had. And we’ve had many beautiful dogs. I know Gilbert extended their lives as they had to see him turn one. We had a big party for him. It’s one of my cherished memories.
2-14-19 UPDATE:
I am thrilled with my noodle. He is so calm and gentle. He entertains himself a lot but is also wonderful with people and other animals. He is gorgeous and He gets a lot of attention when we are out walking.
Gilbert weighs 100 pounds and is very into food. He needs to lose a pound or two according to our vet. I haven’t ever had a dog that is over weight. So it’s a bit challenging to keep him as trim as I like my pets. I think this will correct itself when he is older and we are hiking and swimming longer distances. He is 29” at the shoulder.
So far Gilbert doesn’t shed. He doesn’t drool but gets tons of water while drinking that he carries in his beard. I’m teaching him to lick his lips after drinking which helps. He is in love with water - any water. Not sure about hypo-allergenic. His hair is curly when cut but when I let it grow he has longish straighter hair.
He was very easy to house train. He has been pretty easy to train in general but he can be a bit stubborn. Luckily he’s food and praise motivated. He loves to retrieve. He knows a lot of commands and a few tricks.
I would recommend him to anyone. I love him a ton!
Thanks for our treasure,
Milly

General "Gimli" - Now home with Will and Erin in Christiansburg, VA!
7-29-19 UPDATE
Gimli has been the easiest dog we've ever had to train. He is so smart! Erin taught him roll over in an afternoon, and he picked up “back” in about 30 minutes. We took him to a community/group dog training class and he was one of the top students! He quickly learned to ring bells to go outside, and only had a few accidents as a puppy. He does still get excited around new people, or new environments, but once he settles he is obedient. I think he will grow out of this with time and experience. Gimli has never shown any desire to run away. We let him off leash when we are in quiet environments, and with training/practice I’m sure he could do it in crowded areas. Gimli has picked up everything he knows rather quickly. He knows sit, down, stay, leave it, roll over, back, crate, and spin. The next thing we want to teach him is “bed".
Our complaints with his behavior are few. He loves to dig outside, though we haven’t tried to do anything to correct this. He used to chase the cat often, but appears to be growing out of this. Lastly, sometimes he grabs stuff off of a table or counter. It doesn’t happen frequently, I think it’s just something to be mindful of with any dog this size.
Gimli absolutely loved the snow! He wanted to stay out and play in it. With as fluffy as NewfieDoodles are, cold weather feels really good! A lot of dogs won’t go to the bathroom in the snow or rain, but Gimli has never had an issue with it.
Gimli is the sweetest dog, and loves to spend time with his people. He loves going for car rides, to the horse barn, to public events, and to any store that allows pets. When he was a puppy he always got a lot of attention in public; we expected that. What I didn’t expect was for him to still get just as much attention as an adult. People always compliment him and tell us how pretty he is whenever we take him in public.
Regards,
Will and Erin
2-5-19 UPDATE (responses to our questions):
1. Are you happy with your NewfieDoodle’s temperament and appearance? Please explain.
Yes! Very happy. Gimli is so sweet and so handsome. He is much beefier and has more of a Newfie look than other newfiedoodles I’ve seen in pictures.
2. How much does your NewfieDoodle weigh currently? How tall to the shoulder?
He was 82lbs on the vet’s scale when he turned 8 months on February 1. He is 30” at the shoulders this morning, +/- an inch.
3. Is your NewfieDoodle low or no drool? Non-shedding? Curly hair or straight? Hypo-allergenic as far as you can tell?
No drool and non-shedding! Most of his hair is wavy, some is more curly and some is more straight. A friend is allergic to dogs and didn’t have a problem around him, though he didn’t spend that much time around him.
4. How easy/difficult was it to house train your NewfieDoodle? Very easy. Gimli only had around 5-10 accidents in total. He started ringing a bell to go out pretty quickly. Semi-related, he is very quick to pick up other training, though we aren’t the greatest at teaching.
5. Would you recommend a NewfieDoodle to a friend?
Yes, so far we would.
