the earth is full of your creatures."

We're the Moore Family!
In addition to raising gorgeous giant breed dogs on our 35-acre livestock farm in rural southwest Virginia,
with cows, goats, horses, cats, sheep, donkey, ponies, and chickens,
we love to hike, kayak, bike, ski, camp, garden, farm, play pickle ball,
and just be together as each other's very best friends!

Why the different breeds?
In a large family like ours, everyone has their favorite dog breeds!
Our personal pets in addition to the ones we raise are actually
rough coat Collies Flippy and Lassie,
Anatolian Pyrenees "Alaska" who is quite the family guard dog,
Millie Jane our Old English Sheepdog,
our very special canine family member Maltese "Minnie Lou,"
and our perfect boy and MFN team member Kayak the NewfieDoodle!
PLUS, our newest addition: Bill! Our miniature Schnauzer!
All of whom help "socialize" our pups!

AKC BREEDERS SINCE 2006
How did we get started raising these beautiful dogs? Many years ago, a huge black dog showed up at our farm. After asking around, no one claimed him, and since he had obviously claimed us, he became our "Blackie!" We suspected he might be a Newfoundland - sweet, laid-back, gentle, just a big teddy bear! Just like others say, once you have a Newfie, you always need a Newfie! So when Blackie passed away, we were on the search for another one! At that time (before neat sites like PuppyFind), the only Newfoundlands we could find within driving distance "just happened" to be a breeding pair that the owners would not separate. So we brought home Mack and Nellie, and we are now getting 4th generation puppies from our sweet Nellie's line!
Moore Family Newfoundlands is very much a family affair. From the moment our puppies are born (and even before), we and our children are intimately involved in their daily care. No "middle guy," "guardian homes," or "broker" here! DID YOU KNOW THAT'S A COMMON PRACTICE?? We do NOT sell to pet stores or 3rd parties. We personally know, interact with, and care for each of our adult breeders and their puppies! Each potential family submits a questionnaire/application so we can help them find the perfect fit, as well as ensure that our pups go to wonderful homes.
When Mama dog is due, she and her pups get special TLC in the "puppy whelping" room in our home where they are closely monitored, nurtured, cuddled, and supervised by the members of our family 24/7 the first several weeks of life. They eventually graduate to the "puppy nursery" where they continue to nurse from their Mama and learn how to play with Newfies of other ages as well as their litter mates. The result? Wonderful, socialized, gorgeous, healthy Newfoundlands that make loving family pets! We've been blessed to become good friends with many of our puppies' families and enjoy posting regular updates which folks enjoy reading on our site!
In addition to our wonderful Newfies, our adult son and daughter have researched the best livestock guardian dogs. In our rural area, anyone with livestock needs a LGD to protect against coyotes and bears. This is how we discovered the fascinating world of Spanish Mastiffs!
They've since imported some of the finest and now offer these beautiful pups as both LGDs as well as loyal family pets!
But first and foremost, it is our prayer that as Christians, our faith would shine through everything we do, including raising these beautiful creatures the Lord has entrusted to us. Want to know how you can have eternal life and a joyful life amidst the chaos of this sin sick world?
Just ask! We're always more than happy to share our faith in Jesus Christ!
Contact us to inquire about a current available puppy or to ask about plans for upcoming litters!
We look forward to hearing from you!

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
