"We are so happy with our Newfie girl, Tilly! She is big, fluffy, hilarious, and very smart.
I am very impressed with how she's looking! She is much more big and blocky than her Newfie friend she plays with from a different breeder. We are very happy with her! Will definitely be coming back for another one!" Amelia in Maine November 2023 |
We have gotten two dogs from Moore Family Newfoundlands, a Newfie/Poodle in March 2020, and a Spanish Mastiff in January 2022. Bluebelle (NewfyPoodle) and Bruno (Spanish Mastiff) are the best of friends. We could not have gotten any better dogs. They are the most gentle dogs and are true protectors of our children. Bluebelle weighs 92 lbs and Bruno weighs 202 lbs (with one paw off of the vet scale because he doesn’t fit 🤪). Bruno could not be any sweeter and gentle with our children. He doesn’t realize how big he is and still thinks he is a puppy.
When getting these dogs, we wanted to ensure that their temperament was good and this was exactly what we got. We also wanted to ensure that the potential for health issues was low based on genetics and we have not had any issues with either so far. We love both pups so much and they love us even more! We highly recommend Moore Family Newfoundlands and will obtain any future dogs we have from them. Amy, November 2023 |
"My wife and I got Karr, now Rolo in July 2023 when he was 8 weeks old. He has been an absolute joy. He has the absolute best personality and LOVES everyone. Finding this family was awesome and if I ever plan to get another big baby I will get one from y’all!" Brad Huss, owned by Rolo (F1b son of Kayak and Lauren) in NC! August 18, 2023 |
"When I think Newfoundland breeders, there is only one name that comes to mind!!!! Moore Family Newfoundlands!! From our first conversation, to now six years later looking to get another puppy, they are the only ones I’d even consider!! We’ve had our big boy Thor for 6 years and he has been the most amazing dog we’ve owned. His docile temperament is only one you get from top notch breeding and bloodlines!! His heath has been nothing but good. If you’re considering getting a Newfoundland puppy, look no further -you’ve found your breeder!! " Chad, owned by Thor, West Virginia August 5th, 2023 |
"We love Torri—now Stori. She is incredibly intelligent, mischievous, beautiful, and cuddly. We are so glad we purchased our healthy puppy from the Moore family. She eats like crazy and is getting huge at 6 months." Cyndi H. California July 25th, 2023 See Stori, a Tommi and Lance F1 Newfiedoodle |
"You have no idea how much I appreciate the thought and care you all put into pairing up the right fit for us, it means so much to me! Thank you for everything you do for your dogs and dogs families!!" Catherine, owned by MFNs Legend and MaryLou in MA We got Clancy (Tobi) last August. We could tell that he was loved from birth. We met the family when they met us in Tennessee to pick Clancy up, but we had done our research before hand. The Moores love their dogs and are very conscious of health and proper breeding habits. Not only is Clancy well adjusted, but is 100% healthy at almost one year old. We have recommended the Moores to everyone that has asked about Clancy.
Reviewer: Randy J. April 14, 2022 See Clancy Thank you for the opportunity to own one of your precious puppies. What I have appreciated most is your communication. We were kept informed of our puppy’s progress through emails, pictures, website updates, etc. Your ability to establish a knowledgeable and trusting connection is unrivaled.
May God continue to bless you, your family, the dogs, and all involved. Sincerely, Reviewer: Amy West September 2021 See Everest We recently purchased our Newfie from the Moores and every step of the way was seamless and pleasant. You could tell these breeders were not your typical breeders and made you feel like they are truly in this for the right reasons. From being closed on Sundays to vetting their potential owners. Their hearts are in the right spot. We received little updates with photos while we waited for our puppy to come home with us which was the most appreciated gesture. Certainly got our kids super excited. They were supportive and knowledgeable with emails and info on what to purchase, expect etc and were always there if we needed them. Our puppy had an uti when we got him but Edee didn’t know. This is very normal. She offered to keep and rerun him when he got better. She also sent her husband to meet us early the next day, Sunday which is their day of rest/church and for their family, to give us antibiotics! How amazing and thoughtful was that. We have heard from Edee since we came home with her little check ins. I will consider her a friend for sure and never have we seen such a smart and gorgeous puppy as ours and he’s our 4th dog currently but we have had many! You can’t go wrong here at all! Thank you Moore family. Reviewer: Amanda Shelton November 9, 2021 See Boeing Maggie (Merry) is 3 months old and is adjusting very well to our family. She does well on the house training and learned to sit and lay down on command. She loves being outside and loves the snow! She loves to take walks with our other dog Tucker. She is super friendly. Thank you Moore Family for everything. You and your family have made welcoming Maggie to our family so easy, even in a pandemic. You all are super friendly, professional and share lots of great information to make the process easy for both Maggie and us. I was very touched by the personal touch and the homemade toys the kids gave Maggie for the ride home. That is still her favorite. I am so happy that we found our go to breeder for the future! Thank you Moore Family Reviewer: The Berry Family, CT February 12, 2021 See Maggie We obtained a pup from Moore Family Newfoundlands in late 2019. From day one, when just devouring their website, throughout the entire process, Shane and Edee have been nothing short of wonderful. The entire process was professional and streamlined, without losing that personalized touch that is so hard to come by these days. They made us feel as if we were family members. We traveled to pick our pup up and on the morning of, we were able to meet the lovely young lady (one of the Moore's beautiful daughters) who had helped raise our Panda. You will not find a lovelier or ethically outstanding family than the Moore's and I am so happy to say, we have found our go-to family for our future Newfoundland family members.

The Moore family are fantastic breeders and a wonderful family. They were so patient with us as we waffled between which puppy would be the best fit for us. In the end, they helped us find the PERFECT dog for our family (a Spanish Mastiff). We already love him and he has become a part of our family. If you’re considering a Newfie or Spanish Mastiff, these are the folks you want to get him/her from. Just do it, and you’ll not regret it!

We could not have asked for a better experience and sweeter, healthier puppies than with the Moore family. You can absolutely tell that the Moores take the best care in socializing and raising their Newfies. Chewy learned how to sit, use the dog door, and potty train within the first two weeks that we had him and got perfect marks from the vet at his checkup. We love our first puppy so much that we decided we just had to get another (Layla) from the Moores and couldn't be happier that we did. Layla (now Waffles) is incredibly sweet, sassy, and cute as a button. They're both full of personality and most importantly healthy and happy puppies. When we visited the Moore's to pick up Waffles we were greeted like family and sent home with a second perfect puppy (and a plate of the most amazing homemade chocolate chip cookies!!!) Their house is the perfect Newf oasis up in the mountains of Virginia. We will recommend the Moore Family to anyone who is ever looking to bring a sweet Newfie into their lives. Thanks so much, Moore family - we can't wait to bring the pups around when they are grown.

My family and I have been working with Edee for the last couple months in preparation for our newest member of our family. We picked Bonito (King) from Breezie and Mason’s litter. From our first conversation to the time we received our sweet boy, the experience could not have been better! This was the first time we had ever worked with a breeder and the Moore family could not have made it easier. What we got was more than I could’ve expected, in a good way. This puppy is so well socialized and friendly it makes training a lot easier. I am not exaggerating when I say we have had two accidents inside, but other than that he scratches the door to go to the bathroom every time. Everyone he comes in contact with thinks he’s just the most beautiful dog they’ve ever seen, and I have to agree! I just want to give a big thanks to everyone who has helped raise this puppy before he came to us. Edee and her beautiful children have really figured out how to supply families with happy healthy puppies. This will absolutely not be the last dog we get from the Moore family. Not only did we find a superior breeder but also made a friend along the way. Thank you and God bless!!

Roscoe is the best!!
He was weighed Friday at the groomers - 133lbs. He’s maintained this same weight since he was 1.5 years of age.
In St Augustine there was a Holiday Parade on Saturday. The Newf club of FL is the only group of dogs allowed and have been in attendance for the last 25 years! Roscoe was a participant this year (hence the photo I sent) and I have to tell you that he got so many compliments - many Newf owners said he was the most handsome dog there (and there were at least 50 Newfs)!!

I have spoken so much back and forth with the Moore's when I picked up my puppy it felt like family! When this big ball of fluff got out of the vehicle I had tears in my eyes (don't know if Edee and Delight saw). The experience of working with this family has been not only professional but very welcoming and family like. This is the most beautiful puppy I have seen. He is healthy and happy; I can tell he has been raised with children and very lovingly. He is basically house trained( if we pay attention he tells us when he needs to go out!) He knows sit, he fetches like a pro and he is walking off lead staying with me and minding: Oh he has the Newfie stubbornness but I can work with him!!! He is absolutely perfect and we love him so much. Wonderful wonderful puppy, fantastic people and exceptional experience. Thank you Moore's I will recommend you always and when I think I can handle 2, will definitely get on a list!!!

We want to Thank You tremendously, Edee & Shane, for getting our beautiful puppy "Titan" to us! You went way above & beyond to make sure that happened. How lucky are we to find such caring & fine people! You & your kiddos are doing a great job raising some awesome Newfie puppies. I am so glad I found your website. Never thought of getting a Newfoundland but we are super happy that we did! "Titan" is an awesome puppy; extremely intelligent, loving & simply gorgeous! He is going to grow into a very handsome fellow all because of you all! As you know I have already recommended you to some of my co-workers who are interested in your puppies as well! From a former breeder of German Shepherds & Shelties, all of you keep up the fine work!

Thank you Edee, Shane and the rest of the Moore Family,
We are indebted to you. We had been looking for a new puppy to welcome into our hearts and home for a while (like 3 years), and like some of the other reviews mentioned - we were almost swindled by a fake breeder from Atlanta, but at the last minute we had second thoughts and that particular site shut down shortly later. So though we were grateful that we didn't lose our money, we were still nervous about trusting whether any other puppies we saw on the internet were real or just more scams.
But, it wasn't like that with the Moore Family Newfoundland - they immediately responded to our request to get on their mailing lists, which was a good way to see how much interest we had, and they were great at keeping in touch and sharing photos on their website of new puppies, parents, and even their own family. We really felt connected to this family and I liked how their emails always included their first names as we corresponded unlike the previous breeder I had contacted who gave no personal information. Once we decided on our puppy by putting down just the $100 deposit (which still made me feel better than the last guy who wanted a cashiers check from Walmart for the full amount), I felt a lot better that this was the real deal. We started getting puppy growth pictures of pool parties, play dates and naps around the Moore farm - these all heightened the excitement in our home while we waited to bring our new puppy home. When the pickup day finally came, I think we weren't really prepared. She was so big and so small. We all wanted to hold her. She was so soft. Everything they said about her was true and she was ours now. And even though, we went our separate ways, I know I only just have to shoot them an email or call them up and they would be there to talk to me about our girl or the rest of her family, because this is the real thing, and it was totally worth it!

My name is Whitney. My family and I decided on the Newfie breed and began doing research on affordable breeders. I came across a few local breeders and some scammers along the way. I came across the Moore Family's website early on...and I had a feeling instantly that they were the one to choose. Right from the beginning of the process they were kind and eager to answer any questions I had. The majority of my correspondences was with Miss Edee...she was just wonderful. My family lives in Niagara Falls and once we decided to purchase our boy Bombur we started planning our trip down to Virginia. The Moore's even offered to meet up with us so we didn't have to drive down so far. They welcomed us onto their land and all the kids welcomed my son as a part of their little pack. Both Edee and Shane were very kind and informative. They made my husband and I feel very comfortable and thankful that we found their site. The children gave me a tour of their land and showed me all of the other Newfies. I was so pleased by how sweet they all were to strangers!! We are very happy with our sweet boy. He is growing so fast and is so smart! Needless to say the Moore's are doing wonderful things on their farm and breeding beautiful puppies!!!

Bringing a puppy into a home is a big responsibility and a joyful one. Working with the Moore's has been such a delight and a truly wonderful experience! Purchasing a puppy from the Moore's was such a blessing from God! The entire family worked together so that I received lots of pictures, all pertinent information in a very prompt manner, always kept updated on how our puppy was doing and her personality, and I was given a very loving and healthy puppy. I continue to stay in touch with them. We had our puppy shipped to is by airlines and the Moore's sent pictures when she departed, gave us all the information we needed, and our girl arrived in happy spirits. I highly recommend the Moore's and plan to purchase another puppy in the future.

From my very first contact with the Moore family, to the pup Lucy (Chloe) being delivered, was a really wonderful experience! I can’t say enough about how kind they are as well as how well socialized Lucy was once we got her. They kept me updated from the beginning with emails, texts and photos. I live in Alaska and wanted to surprise my husband for his birthday. Trying to figure out how to get Lucy here was not quite working out for me as I was trying to arrange flights, etc. but in the end the Moore’s got it all figured out, no more worries on my end and within a short time Lucy was on a plane to Anchorage.
I have since bombarded them with photos and will continue to keep them updated on Lucy. She is a little monster at times (puppy teeth and all) and we love her to pieces! All of the Moore family seem to be involved in the care of their dogs and it shows! I would recommend them highly. We had been searching for the perfect addition to our family for months before stumbling upon the Moore's website. As we were browsing the information, we came across one little guy that caught our eye and emailed them for more information. Within minutes the Moore's had returned our email with all of the requested info. At that moment we knew Arthur Clapham was meant to be our boy. The Moore's were so helpful and informative throughout this whole process, sending us updates and pictures, and just kept our minds at ease. Their website made it easy to see and read about Arthur's family tree. We really loved the fact that the Moore's make raising the pups a family affair and that shows in how happy, healthy, and well socialized they are. We couldn't be happier with our sweet, perfect boy and thank y'all so much ❤

Our family brought home a little girl newfy from Moore Family Newfoundlands yesterday. They delivered her to me to a nearby town after I expressed concern for getting carsick on the winding country road. That was such a blessing to me. What they brought me was a beautiful, well socialized, fearless little ball of love. We drove her 7 hours back home and she did wonderful on the ride. When we got home, we ran the vacuum, interrupted her when she was eating and a few other temperament tests and she was completey relaxed. My 4.5 year old newfy boy and her clicked immediately! After meeting the sweet Moore family, I know that she was well loved and nurtured by the family. What an exceptional family! From the beginning, Edee and Demi kept in contact with me. They answered emails within hours and sometimes within moments. They sent me pictures of our puppy and all around just made us feel special from day 1. I cannot say enough about them and this beautiful puppy. I feel confident that we will have many, many years with her and will definitely check-in with Edee and the rest of the Moore family so they can watch this sweet girl grow up. From the bottom of my heart, Edee, Demi, and the rest of the Moore family, THANK YOU!

We are so glad we decided to get Tom Sawyer, our Irish spotted Newfoundland, from Moore Family Newfoundlands. They were extremely knowledgeable and helpful in making suggestions. They communicated with us consistently throughout the entire process. They sent us so many pictures between the time the litter was born and the time the pups came home that we felt like we were their only customers. They sent along descriptions of Tom and his antics while he was still with his mother, which made us feel like we already knew him when he finally arrived home. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience!

I purchased a wonderful black male Newfoundland puppy from you (the Moore's of Dryden, VA) in August of 2016. He is a very good and very beautiful boy. He is very smart, a quick learner, and loves everyone including my 8 lb Maltese mix and 11 lb. Yorker mix (the Yorkie delights in chasing him around the yard. I should not laugh, but often I do because they are so cute). Best of all, he is a real sweetheart; everyone who meets him loves him. I have taken him swimming at a boarding and therapy facility. He does really well, especially being only 6 months old. He is a delightful puppy and, best of all, loves me very much; if I am laying down with him, he will put his head on my shoulder and just look at me! I am so grateful for him and for the Moore family for raising such a beautiful and loving companion. Thank you so very much!

My family and I just wanted to say that there is a reason we are coming back to you all to ask for another puppy. Whiskey, who we received from you four years ago, is such a joy; he has the sweetest disposition and is beloved by all he meets. Whiskey remains playful which is why we would LOVE to give him the opportunity to have a baby brother. Also, Whiskey remains active and close to his roots by playing in the pool and river whenever he chooses.

We purchased our boy Remington from the Moore family in April of 2016. We had nothing but good to say about our experience while waiting to take our boy home. This family took care of our puppy until we were able to pick him up. They welcomed us in their home, took us around and showed us where the animals were and where our puppy lived with his parents. We have kept in touch with the Moore family because I'm quite sure we will be getting another Newfoundland from them. Our dog has a great personality and no health problems. He's a great pet so if you are ever wanting to purchase a Newfoundland, I would purchase it from Edee and Shane Moore... and I cannot forget The help from the children. The interaction that they had with each and every puppy was amazing. I think that's why my Remmie is such a social butterfly. Thank you Shane and Edee for giving us such a great dog.

I received my beloved Newf puppy from the Moore family in the late winter of 2015 and had a great purchasing and delivery experience, even with a winter storm providing some airline challenges en route to Montana. My puppy is everything I had hoped. He has a beautiful block head, vet-checked good hips, a lush black coat with red tips, weighs about 155 pounds, and has an unflappable temperament that allows him to go to work with me daily at the school library. His early socialization by the Moore family was outstanding. I could not be happier with this dog, and I highly recommend the Moore family as conscientious breeders of excellent Newfoundland Dogs.

Inara My baby girl is a little over a year old. If you are looking for a great companion this would be a great choice. She has a very sweet disposition and loves to just flop down on the floor and be loved on. She is very smart. When we brought her home it only took a couple weeks to teach her how to ring a bell when she wanted outside. I love her so much. She is currently 150lbs so she had a lot of love to give back. As for the breeders they were awesome. They drove close to 4 hours to bring her to us, and this is after they had headed home and turned around and back tracked two hours because we waited till the very last minute for my hubby to let me have her. Wonderful experience For years I had wanted a Newfoundland, & when one of our dogs passed on two & a half years ago I began my search. That is when I found the Moores and their puppies. What a beautiful, loving, and remarkable family they are! In September 2012 they met me in East Tennessee with a beautiful little male, with whom I immediately fell in love. He is 2 1/2 now & is exceptional--very intelligent, loving, obedient--a great family dog. He has always been gentle with our little 4 year old granddaughter. He is also protective of us, which I really like. |
Great pup and good people Bought a Newfie from Edee Moore and from start to finish everything was wonderful. It was a very difficult delivery because of weather issues, first we were unable to meet half way, then there was confusion with the flight and delays with airline....Edee did everything she could to ensure Mack arrived safely. She went above and beyond for the little guy and for us. Now that he is here safe and sound, he is an energetic, happy, goofy little guy who gets along great with my other dogs and son. I highly recommend.

I love my Newfie puppy! After losing my dog of 10 years, I came across the Moores ad for Newfoundland puppies. Both Shane and Edee were very sweet people, they responded to my messages about the puppy promptly, sent more pictures and met me at a closer location to my home to pick up my new puppy. They gave me his vet health records, papers to mail in to register him, a letter from his vet stating he was in excellent health, etc. He is everything I wanted and then some! He's a beautiful puppy, he's healthy, he has the sweetest disposition and he's very smart! I just love him to pieces. For anyone looking for an exceptionally bred Newfoundland puppy with excellent traits and temperament, I would highly recommend buying a puppy from the Moores. Thank you Shane and Edee for my new best friend! Mary

Just a 20 pound weight gain since 8/20 :) He's such a good puppy, we just love him to death! And he might be just a little spoiled rotten, haha. |
Best puppy ever! I just purchased a puppy from the Moores. She is a beautiful puppy ! I found her saw a picture and was immediately in contact with the Moores. They got back to me about cypress ! I paid my deposit and I was having problems with my credit card but they were patient and they held on to her for me. It took a week from start of contact to recieve my puppy. We have now had her for three days and she is potty trained and learned how to sit already. Smart dog ! We are in love with this little pup ! I have never had a smarter dog in my 40 years on this earth. Im so in shock how easy she caught on and how much she loves my babies. She is so gentle and then again so goofy. Thank you to the Moore family . If you are looking for a great dog that is socialized affordable smart and comes from a great breeder the Moores are the right choice. I give them 5 plus stars. Sincerely Jacquelyn & Mike from ct.

Great Newfoundlands Hello to all reading this, we hope our words find you well and in good Spirit. We purchased Chiasni Kuma "Dee-Dee" Martin in September of 2012, drove down to pick her up. She is a loving, caring and affectionate dog, almost to a fault. I have had to "rescue" my wife a few times from her lounging on top of her, relaxed. Dee-Dee is super healthy, great with the kids and all of our other Homestead animals. I would tell anyone that it would be a good choice if they asked me what I think about them getting a Newfoundland from the Moore. If anyone has any questions or would like to see pics of Dee-Dee feel more than welcome to email me. God Bless

A wonderful place to find a puppy We want to express our appreciation to the Moore family for providing us with a wonderful new puppy. The Moore family is a large, kind, caring and loving family that is raising some wonderful “gentle giants.” This is definitely not a puppy mill or one of those breeders that treats you like all pet owners are incompetent and need long contracts to dictate the pet owner's every move. The dogs live on a wonderful small farm and are socialized with lots of dogs, cats and other farm animals. All of the farm animals are very healthy and happy. I highly recommend the Moore family as your first stop in looking for a puppy.

Update July 2015
Duke is doing really well. He has gotten big. I am guessing about 140 but I haven't had him to a scale big enough to weigh him in over 6 months. He is amazingly fast for a Newfoundland. His favorite joy in life is chasing turkeys, squirrels, rabbits and chipmunks all of which we have in vast abundance on our property. When he takes after them he can almost catch them and it is something to see when he runs that fast. I have seen him run across the upper yard and jump off the 6 foot retaining wall into the lower yard and not land for over 15 feet and never miss a beat as he chases across the lower field.
He has also grown very protective of our property and house. He does his best to scare off the bears when they come around at night. Unfortunately a bear is not really scared of a dog in a dog lot no matter how big or mad the dog is. They generally just amble by and just taunt Duke. But the most fun thing that Duke does is in the middle of the night when the Coyotes come near in the woods. They will wake us up with their yapping as they find and chase pray. Then you will hear them howl in that higher pitch that coyotes have. Now Duke doesn't like his beauty sleep disturbed. So when they start their howling we will hear his dog door in the basement swoosh open and closed. Then in the most amazingly deep voice you will hear him throw his head way back and start a long and low howl. It lasts sometimes for a minute to a minute 30 seconds and is incredibly deep. He sounds just like a wolf. The coyotes will instantly shut up and leave our part of the woods for the night. We have never heard them a second time in a night after Duke howls in that deep, deep voice.
I have attached pictures. He looks much smaller in the photos than when you are standing there. I am not a very good photographer.
We hope all is well with your family and your dogs. And again thank you for such a wonder part of our family.
