If you're visiting Virginia Beach and happen to see a big black bear and a big brown bear walking on leashes, stop and say hello to MFNs Raven and Darla! We love to place our retirees with puppy family. Thank you Caiti and Mark!

Lucy (mom and grandmother of our beautiful "L" line - Lottie, Lonnie, Lucie Doozie, Lukie, etc) celebrated her 10th birthday in May and is doing really well!! 🙂 The vets here in FL have been baffled to see a Newfie her age in such great shape! Other than some mild arthritis, she is healthy, happy, and still gets a little bounce to her step when she's excited to see us!
Megan Ball When Brenda contacted us to tell us how much her vision-impaired daughter loved and connected with our one-eyed Joey, we knew he had found his special retirement home. After years of serving Moore Family Newfoundlands, Joey is now living a life of fun, sunshine, spa treatments, and love with his new family (and our NewfieDoodle puppy Toby) in Florida! See the full story here!
If you ever visited our farm over the years,
you were likely greeted by big ole' sweet Jackson. One of our first sires before we even had a website, Jackson's gentleness and loyalty earned our affection as well as his permanent retirement here with us. Never one to like being inside, Jackson spent his days milling around the yard and farm, lazing under the shade tree or in the fresh snow, and quietly enjoyed the family's company. He especially loved our oldest daughter who faithfully cared for him until his last breath. To all those who have lost a Newfie or other beloved pet to old age, we sympathize. Jackson is greatly missed. Likely the sweetest Newfie we've ever seen, Miss Bailee Belle (daughter of Bertha and Rigel) will be sorely missed! Three years ago, Diana Reiss, PhD (professor in Psychology at Hunter College and Director of the Animal Behavior & Conservation Graduate programs) emailed us to say she would love to have Bailee when we retire her. She patiently waited as Bailee continued to star in our breeding program, with her pups being highly sought for their lower drool potential and stellar temperaments. Bailee is transitioning well from farm girl to city girl, enjoying her daily walks in Riverside Park adjacent to Hudson River as well as her weekend jaunts to the lake in CT. We're so happy for Bailee and for Diana and look forward to a lifetime of wonderful updates! Bailee (now Delphi) is doing great! We love her some much and she is so smart and learns so fast. She and our cat are amazing together. Melchior (our cat) naps next to her after breakfast every day (he did this with Orson our previous Newfy as well). But this am, Melchior walked directly up to her face slowly and sniffed her and Bailee licked him on the head twice very very gently. Melchior then napped next to her. It’s unbelievable how quickly these two bonded. A match made in heaven. We waited so long to find the right dog —and we did. I am sure she misses you all and I am trying to give her all the love you and your family have provided her that have resulted in the wonderful being she is.
Warmly, Diana We were so honored to get Rigel as a puppy from Art and Susan Porter, breeders in TN. After serving Moore Family Newfoundlands for many years as one of our first main sires, getting us started on the right foot in health, conformation, and classic Newfie temperament, Rigel joins the Bublitz and Gomez families and granddaughters Winnieford and Matilda! We are so grateful to Hannah, Diego, and Michael for keeping us updated and even bringing Rigel back for a visit from time to time! His legacy continues through many offspring here at the farm! He'll always be the mascot for Moore Family Newfoundlands. WE MISS YOU RIGEL!
it's sweater time! Ever wonder what we do with all the fabulous newfie fur left from grooming?9/24/2021 Introducing Chiengora! Beautiful hand-spun wool made from dog fur! And what better dog fur to use than Newfies'? Water-resistant and super warm! Recycling at its finest, or should we say "furriest!?" See more about the process below.... There's lots of it (dog fur) that goes into landfills (sob) and it's so useful and beautiful. Newfy is especially nice, IMO, as it behaves like alpaca, and is super easy to work with. You guys do such a nice job of gathering it, I am able to spin it right out of the bag. It's really nice stuff. Yours is of such good quality, that you kind of set the bar high - thanks to the kids for being so good about getting all the dirt out!
Kelly, Arlington WA (2) Chiengora Hand Spinners Group | Facebook knittingmachinecenter.com We're always thankful when an entire litter gets a great vet report with no issues! These are BIG PUPS too! We're super excited about Eb's first offspring with us! Ready to go home soon!
What a busy day for the Moore Family and puppies! Up early to bathe, dry, and groom all the pups for their photo shoot and then out the door in the big Ford Transit for their vet visit an hour away! Thankfully all the pups checked out well and were a huge hit with the staff and fellow clients at Valley View Animal Clinic!
